    The El Paso Funniest Comedy Challenge 2022 is an event putting comedians from El Paso and surrounding areas in the spotlight. The contest is open to amateur comedians from El Paso and surrounding areas. Registration will Open October 7 at 12:01am (MST) 15 spots are available and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis and approval from LHC Marketing as a performer.

    THE RULES

    1. To participate in the El Paso Funniest Comedy Challenge 2022 one must first apply online at laughterhourscomedy.com beginning on Oct 7, 2022. Applicants must have a prepared solo stand-up comedy routine. All applicants must be 18 or older to enter as an act. Applicants who are under the age of 18 may compete, but must be approved by LaughterHours Comedy by submitting a request to media@laughterhourscomedy.com. The comedy routine should not exceed 5 minutes. The deadline for application submissions are November 15 or when registration fills up.

    2. All applicants must pay a non-refundable entrance fee upon submitting an application ($30 dollars). Applicants must be available for the competition date(November 6, 2022).

    3. The use of unoriginal material and plagiarism will result in the applicant’s immediate disqualification from El Paso’s Funniest Comedy Challenge 2022 Competition.

    4. El Paso Funniest Comedy Challenge 2022 will be held on November 6, 2022. Approved applicants will compete only on that date. Judges for the preliminary shows will consist of LaughterHours Comedy board members, and/or respected figures in the local artistic and comedic communities, and audience vote. Applicants will be judged on Material, Stage Presence, Delivery & Technique, and Audience Response & Rapport. Two separate prizes are to be awarded. A cash prize to the Audience Choice, as voted by the audience in attendance, and a week hosting a show at the El Paso Comic Strip awarded to the Judge’s Pick.

    5. Prizes will be given out to selected winners in the finale. First Place Audience Pick prize–$300, Runner-up–$100, First Place Judge’s Choice prize–One week hosting at the El Paso Comic Strip All finale participants will receive 5 discounted tickets to the show.
